Prof. Dr. Peter Kacsuk, technical leader of ELKH Cloud gave a keynote talk during the first day of IWSG 2022 under the title “Lessons learnt from building a research cloud infrastructure in Hungary”. The talk described the three phases of building the Hungarian research cloud infrastructure:

• Phase 1: MTA Cloud project (2015 – 2019)
• Phase 2: ELKH Cloud project (2020 – 2022)
• Phase 3: ELKH ARP Data Repository project (2022 – 20223)

The talk also described EOSC and the EGI-ACE and NEANIAS EU projects as well as the role of ELKH Cloud in EOSC and in these projects. Finally, the talk outlined the SLICES ESFRI program, the SLICES-SC project and its Open Call to submit proposals for using the transnational access policy of SLICES-SC to do experiments on the SLICES infrastructures. The talk also emphasized Hungarian National Labs as new users of the cloud infrastructure.
