Andras Vereckei works at the Institute of Economics (KTI) of the Centre for Economic and Regional Studies (KRTK) within the MACROMANAGERS ERC project. His main responsibility is the development and maintenance of "Mérleg LTS", a micro-level firm panel database, and organising the research team as product owner within the Scrum framework, using agile techniques. Since 2009 he has analysed firm balance-sheet and income-statement data, and performs data processing and analysis daily using the software best suited to each task: DuckDB, Julia, Stata, and Python.

Over the past year Andras has also applied large language models in coding (VS Code Copilot, Hermes Agent, OpenRouter), and focuses strongly on data provenance and reproducibility: the work is driven by Makefile on a Linux server, with outputs and information collected in Readme.md, using Bead, an open-source data-provenance tool, with version control on GitHub. During the Ambassador Programme, he plans to deposit the MACROMANAGERS project's research data in the ARP repository, with access levels tailored to each dataset – some will be openly available, others accessible only under a non-disclosure agreement or with restricted access.
