Meiszterics, Enikő

After graduating from the Budapest University of Economics, Enikő Meiszterics worked as a research director and later as head of research at Marketing Centrum, the legal successor of the National Institute for Market Research. During this time, she also founded M.Á.S.T. Market and Public Opinion Research Society, where she served as owner and lead researcher. Both organizations placed a strong emphasis on innovation.
In 2014, she joined the Research Documentation Centre (KDK) of the Centre for Social Sciences (TK) as a collection management officer. She contributed to the development of TK’s research data management workflow and has since supported researchers throughout the entire research data lifecycle. Following the establishment of the HUN-REN Data Steward Network on 1 October 2024, she has been serving as TK’s designated data steward.
The Centre for Social Sciences took a pioneering step in 2013 by founding the Research Documentation Centre and creating its own institutional repository. The aim was to organize and provide access to research data produced at CSS. From the early years of operation, it became clear that systematic, retrospective collection was less efficient than proactive, well-planned, and continuous data management throughout the research process. Since 2016, Enikő has supported CSS researchers and research groups in their research data management activities, from the planning phase to repository publication.
“Many studies at TK deal with sensitive topics or marginalized groups. In these cases, we work in close cooperation with the Ethics Committee and the Data Protection Officer to find research and data management solutions that allow us to thoroughly explore the research questions while safeguarding the rights, interests, and safety of both research participants—and often the researchers themselves.”
