Health, patient, and medical data are particularly valuable and highly sensitive, and therefore fall under the category of specially protected research data. Domestic health research, data recordings from medical and clinical devices, and state data collection generate enormous and extremely detailed databases, the reuse of which in further research, new developments, and the validation of medical devices are critical areas. These databases contribute and can contribute to research projects in many scientific fields.

In the next roundtable discussion of the Find a Treasure series, we will talk about issues such as access to medical data, self-determination, identifiability, protection, ethical research, reliability, medical and non-medical use, and use for research and development.

Participants:

  • Zoltán Alexin – data protection specialist (University of Szeged, Faculty of Science and Informatics)
  • Ferenc Bodnár – assessor - clinical investigations (medical devices) (Hungarian National Center for Public Health and Pharmacy)
  • Dezső Miklós Deputy Director, Senior Research Fellow (HUN-REN Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics)
  • Valter Papp – head of certification body (CE CERTISO Kft.)

Moderator:

  • Balázs Barkóczi – research fellow (HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences)
