Discussion Series on Open Science in Review of Sociology

In her article, Judit Gárdos analyzes the state of measures and infrastructures necessary for open science in Hungary, focusing on the responsibilities, roles, opportunities, ambitions, and limitations of research funding organizations, scientific institutions, and individual researchers. She highlights the risks associated with the phenomenon that the majority of findings from publicly funded social science research in Hungary are deliberately kept secret.

The article was written in response to a call for discussion by Review of Sociology (Szociológiai Szemle) and is based on a debate that took place at the 10th anniversary conference of the Center for Social Sciences (TK) Research Documentation Center, one of the founding institutions of ARP.
