HUN-REN Data Repository Platform

International Initiative for the Standardization of Research Data

The DDI develops international standards for data generated across various scientific disciplines to facilitate their use, integration, and interpretation. Presentations at the conference showcased modern methods and tools for managing large-scale, often long-term collected and diverse data types, as well as the application of DDI-developed standards.

Four Hungarian participants representing ARP, who work at the Center for Social Sciences (CSS) Research Documentation Center managing two digital archives, were invited to the Metadata Uplift and Machine Learning – European Perspectives workshop. They presented the objectives, achievements, and operational framework of ARP, as well as their experiences from other projects in encoding and annotating data—primarily interview texts—using machine learning algorithms.

Participants of the full-day workshop agreed to establish a long-term collaboration to coordinate pioneering efforts in research data indexing.
