We are pleased to recommend to all interested researchers, data stewards and experts the Summer School organized by the State Archives of Belgium between May 4 and 7, 2026, which awaits its participants with numerous presentations and workshops. Registration is already open.
The joint event of EDDI (European DDI User Conference) and SODHA (Social Sciences and Digital Humanities Archive) will be held in Brussels, Belgium, with in-person attendance.
The Summer School brings together experts from physical and digital archives, galleries, museums, and libraries to discuss their experiences, challenges and vital questions around digital archiving, ontologies, the cost of archiving, and more.
The program combines lectures and group work to provide theoretical and practical guidance in various areas of data archiving.
Róza Vajda, member of the ELTE TK KDK and the HUN-REN ARP team, will lead a workshop titled “Sharing meaning, vocabularies in a European Context” at the event.

- 6 May 2026: The impact of archiving
- Curating the collective memory by Filip Strubbe & Johan van der Eycken (State Archives of Belgium)
