László Kovács has taken on a wide range of tasks, from inventing the ARP project, through the formulation of the proposal and the development of the technical and financing plans, to designing the repository's architecture and taking part in the professional management of the project.
László has been a staff member of SZTAKI since 1980, from 1994 operating as the founding head of the Distributed Systems Department. He holds a degree in electrical engineering, a degree in instrumentation and computer engineering and a doctorate in engineering (software technologies). He has been a lecturer at several universities at home and abroad (BME, University of Aizu, École Normale Supérieure, University of Delaware, Université de Montréal). László was involved in the design and implementation and is responsible for the ongoing IT operation of the national repository system of the Hungarian Science Bibliography (MTMT). His areas of interest include pervasive computing, collaboration support, semantic web, cloud computing, digital libraries, intelligent user interfaces, formal description techniques, among others.
