Gabriella Virág joined the HUN-REN ARP team as a data steward in 2025. She has over ten years of experience in research support, particularly in metadata management, organization, and accessibility. She is committed to promoting the principles of open science and ensuring the transparency of scientific results.

She studied library and information science as well as mathematics at the University of Debrecen, followed by training in data science at KÜRT Akadémia. Previously, she worked as the head of the DOI Office at the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) and as the head of the Research Support Department at the ELTE University Library. She has contributed to the development of numerous digital repositories and research support systems and, as a product management, focused on adapting open-source data management systems to user needs.

In her work, she prioritizes the efficient and sustainable management of research data and supporting research communities. Her goal within the HUN-REN ARP framework is to contribute to the development of research data-related services and infrastructures, thereby promoting broader accessibility and utilization of research results.
