Krassován, Krisztina

Since 2024, Krisztina Krassován has been working as a data steward at the Balaton Limnological Research Institute, based in Tihany. Prior to this role, she worked as an institute engineer in the institute’s Hydrobotanical and Microbial Ecology Research Group, within the group’s water chemistry laboratory. There, she was responsible for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of nutrients in natural waters and mesocosm systems using various analytical methods. In addition, she performed quantitative analyses of stable isotopes to study the ecosystem of Lake Balaton from multiple perspectives. During this period, she also completed his PhD at the University of Pannonia in Veszprém, within the Doctoral School of Chemical and Environmental Sciences, where her research focused on phosphorus-containing aerosol particles in the atmosphere.
In 2024, she participated in the ARP Ambassador Program, gaining insight into internationally accepted, modern practices for research data management. As a data steward, she supports researchers applying for grants by helping them interpret the “Data Management Plan” sections of proposals. She also assists them in learning to use the ARP platform and maps the current data management practices at the Balaton Limnological Research Institute through conversations with researchers—an essential starting point for shaping the institute’s future data management culture.
“I am working to introduce a new approach to data management in my institute alongside long-established practices, with only guidelines—but no ready-made, proven, immediately applicable solutions—on how to proceed. This represents not only a great challenge but also a meaningful and noble task.”
