On September 2, 2024, the ARP, ELTE DH-LAB, and KIFÜ organized an informal gathering and discussion for members of the Hungarian data steward community. The initiative aimed to foster connections, provide support, facilitate knowledge sharing and exchange of experiences, and explore potential collaboration opportunities. This first-time event is hoped to be the beginning of a series of future meetings.
In addition to the organizers, data stewards from several institutions participated, including Budapest Corvinus University, ELI-HU Laser Research Institute, ELTE University Library and Archives, HUN-REN Centre, HUN-REN Centre for Ecological Research, and the National Educational Library and Museum.
Key topics discussed included:
- Experiences from the ARP Ambassador Program,
- The development of the HUN-REN Data Steward Network and future plans,
- The first year of ELTE DH-LAB’s data steward training program, its future direction, and student feedback,
- Future opportunities in KIFÜ’s open science activities,
- The NASA Open Science training program.
